Five times the arms of Armenia, on one luxury Armenian chess and backgammon table: cast in brass at each end of the chessboard and on the apron, inlaid in pale wood in each half of the backgammon field, and set into every checker. 60 × 60 cm / 23.6″ × 23.6″ open, 70 cm / 27.6″ high, handmade in Armenia.

Closed, this wooden chess and backgammon table is a side table with a lattice-carved top and apron, cabriole legs and an inlaid chessboard numbered and lettered round its edge. The top swings aside over a felt-lined compartment, then unfolds flat into the backgammon field: pale inlaid points with arrowhead tips, the arms in each half with feathers and shield drawn in fine dark lines, a vine band on the rails and a dice-cup recess at each corner.

Every checker carries the same arms as a cast brass inset in a wooden disc; the chess pieces are turned wood in pale and dark sets of sixteen; a dark dice cup and two dice complete it. The legs unbolt and everything goes into the plywood crate.

How does the table open? Lift the hinged top and swing it aside for the felt-lined compartment; unfold it across the frame and the backgammon field lies flat. The lattice is carved into the beech, the squares, points and the large arms inside are inlaid, and the discs on top, apron and checkers are cast brass. Nothing is printed.
