Chess Set with Storage - Lift-Top
There are no drawers on this one and that is deliberate. Lift the board top and the whole thing opens — a single felt-lined compartment underneath, deep enough to take all 32 pieces at once without sorting them into slots. Close it and there is nothing to see: no handles, no runners, no seam that catches the eye. Just a carved wooden board sitting on a shelf, with everything it needs already inside it.
The frame is softly scalloped with floral detail carved into the corners, finished in a warm honey tone, and the playing surface is inlaid walnut and maple. At 15.7 x 15.7" / 40 x 40 cm and 3.9" / 10 cm deep it takes up almost no room. If you have ever lost a knight between the sofa cushions, a chess set with storage like this is the fix — the pieces have exactly one place to be.
