Chess Set with Storage - Octagonal Green Epoxy
Emerald green, poured deep into the dark squares and polished level against warm maple. Green is the hardest colour to get right in resin — too pale and it looks like bottle glass, too dark and the pieces disappear on it — and this one lands where it should, jewel-like under lamplight and still perfectly readable during a game. The octagonal frame around it is carved at every corner with an eagle worked into scrollwork.
The drawer is what makes it live in a room. Felt-lined, sliding out from the base on a brass pull, it swallows all 32 pieces so the board can stay set up permanently without a bag beside it. That is the honest case for a chess set with storage: not that it looks better, but that it means the game is never more than one movement away.
