The continents are wood and the oceans are resin. Every landmass on the lid of this luxury backgammon set is inlaid in warm maple, cut to shape and set into swirling blue and teal epoxy that moves like real water when the light crosses it — currents, shallows, deep patches. It is the sort of surface people put a hand flat on without meaning to.
There is a nice joke buried in it. Backgammon is played on every one of those continents, under a different name in almost all of them — nardi, nardy, tavla, sheshbesh, shesh besh, and a dozen more — and it has been for thousands of years. So the map is not decoration; it is a fair description of the game's territory. Open the clasps, let the bronze hinges swing, and the full 23.6" / 60 cm playing field is there. You can return any order within 30 days of delivery, for any reason, worldwide. Faulty or damaged items return free; for change-of-mind returns the item must be unused in its original packaging and you cover return shipping. EU and UK customers also have a 14-day statutory withdrawal right.
