The Tree of Life is carved into the closed lid — roots, trunk and branches worked into the wood, the oldest thing in Armenian ornament and still the one people reach for first. Closed, standing on its carved cabriole legs, this Armenian backgammon table is a side table you would want in the room anyway, with bronze hinges and clasps running along the edge.
Open it flat and a full 23.6" / 60 cm playing field is waiting, 32 checkers in beech and walnut beside the dice cup.
