Blue epoxy diamonds alternate with walnut diamonds edge to edge across both faces of this luxury backgammon set — a harlequin of resin and figured wood ground to one flat plane — and inside the same resin, this time deep green, fills points drawn as stacked diamond outlines and a sun-wheel in each half. 60 × 60 cm / 23.6″ × 23.6″ open, handmade in Armenia.

This is the wooden backgammon set that plays its pattern in colour rather than relief: the blue swirls a little inside each diamond where the resin set, the walnut between them shows its own figure, and a thin dark line borders the field. The rails carry long troughs at each end, a scalloped line runs along the ends, and brass clasps hold it shut.

The checkers are wooden discs topped in resin, half green and half terracotta, so they answer the green points beneath them; a pair of dice comes with them.
