A round table has no head of the table: this luxury chess table puts two players face to face across a 60 cm / 23.6″ top on a carved column and four scrolled legs, with acanthus round the square inlaid field and a felt-lined drawer for the 32 wooden pieces. 70 cm / 27.6″ high, handmade in Armenia from beech.

This is the wooden chess table with the most carving below the top. The column is turned and cut with acanthus leaves, the four legs sweep out in pierced scrolls to the floor, and the deep apron is textured all the way round with a brass pendant pull on the drawer. On the top, the coordinates sit on small brass roundels beside the squares.

The pieces are turned in light and dark wood, 16 a side, and go in the drawer between games — a felt-lined tray on metal runners, so it glides. The top and the pedestal ship apart and bolt together in minutes; a bag is included.
