Walnut Chess Set with Pomegranate and Grapevine
The workshop took Armenia's two richest symbols — the pomegranate and the grapevine — and carved them into its richest wood. This walnut chess set winds fruit and vine around a compact 11.8" / 30 cm frame, deep dark grain under hand-cut emblems of abundance, fertility and life.
Open it and the little board doubles: a full chessboard outside, a complete nardi field within, all at a featherlight 2.2 lb / 1 kg. A handmade Armenian chess backgammon set that fits in a shoulder bag and carries a whole harvest of meaning.
