Etchmiadzin is where Armenian Christianity begins: founded in the year 301, the mother church of all Armenians, among the oldest cathedrals anywhere in the world. On this Armenian backgammon set it is carved with bronze-toned detailing that gilds the domes and picks out the stonework, so the cathedral lifts off the wood.
The effect sits halfway between a game and an icon — a handmade wooden backgammon board with a reliquary richness to it. For the family that keeps faith and tradition on the same table, with a full 23.6" / 60 cm playing field waiting inside.
