Luxury Armenian Walnut Chess Set with Mount Ararat and Leaf Carving
This is the grand one of the Ararat boards. Warm walnut, a full 23.6" / 60 cm playing field, and borders carved with leaves and scrollwork that run corner to corner rather than stopping politely at the edges. Above the handle, twin-peaked Mount Ararat is inlaid into the wood — small, exact, and the first thing any Armenian in the room will point at.
At this size the game changes a little. The squares are wide enough that the pieces stand clear of each other, so a crowded middlegame stays readable and nobody knocks a rook over reaching across. It is still a folding chess set: it closes to 23.6 x 11.8" / 60 x 30 cm with all 32 turned pieces inside and lifts by the handle. A carved chess set this big usually means a permanent installation. This one you can still put away.
