King Tigran the Great Scrollwork Backgammon Board
History is stingy with the surname "the Great" — a handful of rulers in three thousand years have earned it, and exactly one Armenian. King Tigran wears it here the way he wears his crown: carved in fine relief at the center of this Armenian backgammon set, wrapped in scrollwork cut as patiently as an empire is built.
Set it on the table and the title does its quiet work. Every game on a handmade wooden backgammon board is a small campaign — openings, sieges, retreats, the final march home — and it plays better under the eye of the one king Armenians never had to explain to anybody. Inside is a full 23.6" / 60 cm playing field.
