Georgian Arms and Map Backgammon Set with Handle — Handmade in Armenia
One roundel of this Georgian backgammon set holds the coat of arms, two lions round the crowned shield, the other a map of Georgia with regions outlined and საქართველო above, both in pale wood on cross-hatched grounds, a leaf knot between and a rope border. A cut-out carry handle runs through each half. 60 × 60 cm, handmade in Armenia.
No paint anywhere: the contrast is pale wood against dark-stained beech, and the reverse keeps the same pairing with an inlaid chequered panel between two leaf-scroll cartouches.
Open, the playing side repeats the pairing — the coat of arms inlaid in one half, the map of Georgia with its regions named in the other — between fleur-tipped inlaid points, with side grips, corner dice recesses and brass-toned hinges. The checkers, a dice set and the carrying bag all come with it.
