Luxury Armenian Coat of Arms Backgammon Table — Handmade in Armenia
Carved large inside a beaded ring at the centre of the lid, the coat of arms of Armenia — eagle and lion holding the shield with Ararat and the ark — anchors this luxury Armenian backgammon table, with a cast brass version in a round recess at each end and another on the apron. On cabriole legs, 60 × 60 cm / 23.6″ × 23.6″ open, 70 cm / 27.6″ high, handmade in Armenia.
Unfolded, the wooden backgammon table shows the arms a fourth and fifth time, inlaid in pale wood at the centre of each half between pale points with arrowhead tips, with a vine band along the rails and a round recess at each corner for the dice cup. Closed, it is a side table with carved lattice over the lid, apron and leg knees and a felt-lined compartment under the swinging top.
Sixteen pale and sixteen dark wooden checkers, a dice cup and two dice go with it, and the cabriole legs unbolt so the table can be shipped or stored flat.

Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the carving real? It is. The big arms on the lid are cut from the top itself as relief, the beaded ring and lattice are carved into the beech, the inlaid arms and points inside are set in pale wood, and only the three small crests are cast brass. To open it, swing the hinged top aside for the compartment or unfold it flat across the frame. Nothing is printed.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free worldwide and tracked. Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Dust the carving with a soft brush, wipe the flat wood with a dry cloth and keep the checkers in the compartment beneath the top.
