The carver framed the strongest thing in the forest. On this backgammon set a bear stands upright at the center of the board, wrapped round with hand-cut scrollwork — raw strength held inside a fine frame, which is its own kind of joke and its own kind of truth.
Strength inside a frame is also a fair description of nardi: wild dice, strict rules. Open the board to its full 23.6" / 60 cm field and let both sides of the bear loose. A handmade wooden backgammon set with a cut-out handle for the road and presence to spare at home.
