The Temple of Garni has stood above the Azat gorge for nearly two thousand years — and when an earthquake finally threw it down, Armenians gathered the fallen stones and raised it again. That is the spirit carved into this Armenian backgammon set: the pale colonnade cut in fine relief at the center of the lid, a monument that refused to stay fallen.
At 15.7" / 40 cm, this is the compact member of the family — a handmade wooden backgammon board that folds shut, picks up by its cut-out handle and comes along to the park, the trip, the summer table. Open it and a full nardi field waits inside. Small board, long history, and the same game Armenians have carried with them for centuries.
