Mount Ararat and a pair of leaf scrolls are carved below the chessboard on this travel chess set. The board is 30 × 30 cm / 11.8″ × 11.8″, handmade in Armenia from beech and stained a deep walnut brown, and it comes with 32 wooden chess pieces and a carrying bag.

A wooden chess set for the small table — the balcony, the train, the grandparents' kitchen. The twin peaks sit in the middle of the lower band with fine rays cut around them, and a leaf scroll curls out towards each corner. The frame is textured in fine dots, the coordinates are carved beside the squares, and the edge of the board is shaped in soft waves.

The board folds closed on bronze clasps. Open it and the inside is carved as a backgammon field, with the map of Armenia drawn in line work in each half. The set comes with the 32 chess pieces in light and dark wood; checkers and dice are not included, so add your own if you want the second game.

Are backgammon checkers included? No. This set comes with the 32 chess pieces. The inside of the board is carved as a backgammon field, so you can add your own checkers and dice if you want the second game.
