Mount Ararat Travel Chess Set Carved in Wood — Handmade in Armenia

Chess set with a Mount Ararat design — the twin peaks carved in pale wood beside the handle, on an 11.8″ / 30 cm beech board handmade in Armenia.

It folds shut into its own case with a handle cut through the frame at each end, and stands on four small brass feet. Interlaced bands run round the field, the coordinates are carved into the frame beside the squares, and the outline of the board is cut in scallops.

In the box: 32 turned wooden chess pieces, pale and dark, and a carrying bag.
