The carver chose the darkest wood in the workshop and cut a sun into it. That is the quiet genius of this luxury walnut backgammon set: a radiant face at the center of the lid, flame-like rays flowing to the edges — light, made out of deep brown shadow.
The master carving shows in the rays. Each one moves — bending like real flame, no two alike, circling the calm face at their center. Run a hand across this hand-carved wooden backgammon board and you can almost feel the heat the carver was imagining.
Indoors, this is the sun that never sets. Evening games on a handmade backgammon set deserve light of their own, and this board brings it — a full 23.6" / 60 cm nardi field inside, warm wood above, and the oldest emblem of life presiding over every roll.
