The Maya carved time itself into stone — ring within ring, glyph by glyph, one of humanity's great acts of patience. The master carver of this luxurious walnut backgammon set repeated the feat in wood: the full calendar radiates across the lid in concentric rings of glyphs, cut in relief so deep it holds its own shadows.
This is the workshop's Everest — the piece the other master boards look up to. Every glyph is an individual carving; every ring must close perfectly on itself; one slip anywhere and the whole face is lost. Nothing about this hand-carved wooden backgammon board was allowed to be almost right.
The old calendar measured days; the board beneath it collects them. Open this handmade backgammon set to its full 23.6" / 60 cm nardi field and add your evenings, one game at a time, to a piece built on the grandest scale the workshop knows. Some boards are bought. This one is acquired.
