Georgian Backgammon Set - Vakhtang Gorgasali of Tbilisi
Every great city begins with a story, and Tbilisi's begins with this man. King Vakhtang Gorgasali, out hunting in the fifth century, followed his bird down to a steaming spring — and decided a capital belonged there. Tbili means warm, and the city still answers to it. His portrait is hand-carved at the center of this Georgian backgammon set, framed in scrollwork.
He makes a fine patron for a game of dice: a king who followed a chance and built something lasting on it. Bring that spirit to this handmade wooden backgammon board — take the bold roll, claim the point, name the city later. Inside is a full 23.6" / 60 cm playing field.
