Armenian Backgammon Set - Ararat and Khor Virap
Some boards are decorated. This one remembers. In the foreground stands Khor Virap, the monastery where Armenia's Christian story began; behind it rise the twin peaks of Mount Ararat. It is the view every Armenian pictures at a glance, carved by hand into the lid of a backgammon set made to be played for generations.
Nardi, the Game Armenia Runs On
In Armenia, backgammon is nardi, and nardi is not a pastime, it is an institution: played over coffee in courtyards, taught by grandfathers who never let you win, argued over at every family gathering. This Armenian backgammon set brings that tradition to your table, with deep-carved points and hand-turned checkers.
